EnsembleData and Data365 both sell multi-platform social data through subscriptions rather than pay-as-you-go. EnsembleData meters daily units on self-serve plans; Data365 sells monthly credit contracts with a sales-led onboarding. The choice is mostly about volume shape and how you like to buy.

## At a glance

| Criteria | EnsembleData | Data365 | Openhandle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free tier | 50 units a day, no card. Resets daily | 14-day trial, no card. Only via a contact form | 100 free requests, no card |
| Entry price | $100/month for 1,500 units a day, use them or lose them | €300/month for 500,000 credits, 1 network only | $0.003 per request, no pack to buy |
| Larger plans | Up to $1,400/month for 50,000 units a day | €850/month for 3 networks, 1M credits. Custom quote above that | Automatic. Rates drop with volume |
| Metering | Unit cost changes per endpoint, 1-10+. Resets daily at 00:00 UTC | Credit weights change per call: post 1, comments 5, profile 9 | One answer, one request |
| Platform depth | Deepest on TikTok. Instagram and X sit behind it. Endpoint counts not published. Plus 5 more platforms, no LinkedIn or Facebook | Depth per platform not published. 1 network on the Basic plan, up to 7 on a custom plan | 45 Instagram, 28 TikTok, and 17 X endpoints. More platforms and data added by demand |
| Buying process | Self-serve via Stripe | Contact form first, then sales | Self-serve, key in a minute |
| Failed requests | Only internal-error failures go uncharged | No policy published | Failed requests are free. You pay only when Openhandle returns an answer |

## The metering models

**EnsembleData resets your quota daily.** A plan is a per-day allowance, not a monthly pool. That suits steady pipelines that pull a similar volume every day. It punishes bursty workloads: unused units tonight are gone at midnight UTC, and a spike day hits your daily ceiling no matter how quiet yesterday was.

**Data365 sells a monthly credit pool**, so bursts average out across the month. But credits are priced per request type (a profile costs 9 credits where a post costs 1), so a profile-heavy workload consumes the pool nine times faster than the headline number suggests.

For both vendors, translate your real workload into their units before comparing: requests per endpoint per day, times unit cost, against the plan.

## Coverage and depth

EnsembleData is strongest on TikTok, with Instagram and YouTube as the other main pillars; its endpoints return rich per-platform payloads. Data365 positions itself around uniform access to up to seven networks with a consistent request/credit structure. Neither offers one normalized schema across platforms; plan for per-platform parsing on both.

## Verdicts

- **Steady daily pipelines on TikTok/Instagram/YouTube, self-serve buying.** EnsembleData. The daily-unit model maps cleanly onto scheduled jobs.
- **Bursty or research workloads, or procurement that prefers a contract.** Data365. Monthly pooling and sales-led terms fit irregular volume.
- **Small experiments.** EnsembleData's free daily units are the lower-friction start; Data365's trial requires the contact-form loop.
