Bright Data pricing
Bright Data charges per record. A record is one item it collects, like a profile or a post. You pay only for records it delivers. New accounts get 5,000 free records every month, no card needed.
- —Pay as you go. $1.50 per 1,000 records.
- —Scale plan. $499 a month with 384,000 records included. Extra records cost $1.30 per 1,000.
- —Enterprise. Custom price. Adds volume discounts, an account manager, a premium SLA, and SSO.
- —Failed calls. Not billed.
- —Delivery. JSON, NDJSON, or CSV. Sent by API, webhook, or to cloud storage like Amazon S3 or Snowflake.
Example: 100,000 records a month on pay as you go is about $150. The $1.30 rate needs the Scale plan at $499 a month. That plan beats pay as you go above about 333,000 records a month.
Why people look for an alternative
- —A big product to learn. Bright Data also sells proxies, datasets, and browser tools. Finding the right social scraper and setting it up takes time.
- —A different shape per platform. Each platform scraper returns its own fields. Five platforms need five parsers to maintain.
- —A big step to the lower rate. The $1.30 rate starts with a $499 monthly plan. Without that plan, the price is $1.50 per 1,000 records.
- —Enterprise extras. The SLA and the account manager come with the Enterprise plan, at a custom price.
Where Bright Data may fit
- —Breadth. LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and Snapchat, if you need them today. We go deep on Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, and YouTube, and add platforms as customers ask.
- —Large batch jobs. If you collect millions of records and want them dropped into S3 or Snowflake, Bright Data is built for that.
- —Free records every month. Bright Data gives 5,000 free records each month. Openhandle gives 100 free requests once, plus free Test requests.
- —Enterprise requirements. If your company needs SSO, a premium SLA, and a custom contract, Bright Data offers them on Enterprise.
What changes when you move
- —No plan. Add any amount from $10. One rate per request, and it never expires while you use your account. Every top-up includes an invoice.
- —One price per call. A profile, a post, a page of posts, or a page of comments costs the same. Your bill is requests times price.
- —Rates drop on their own. Past 100,000 requests in a month, each request costs less. No plan to buy first.
- —One shape. Profiles, posts, and comments look the same on Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, and YouTube.
- —Hard limits. Your balance is the limit. You can also set a monthly request cap on each key.
- —Direct team support. A direct chat with our team.
- —Lower prices for older data. Openhandle lowers costs when you can use older data. A 30-day cache hit is free.
Move your integration
- 01Start with a Test key. Create a Test key in the dashboard. Use the synthetic identifiers in the quickstart to validate your integration without charges.
- 02Map your calls. Match your required data to the API reference. Check endpoint coverage, parameters, and returned fields before switching. Keep unsupported operations with your current provider. The table below lists common Openhandle calls.
- 03Update paths, parameters, and authentication. Use https://api.openhandle.dev/v1 with Authorization: Bearer followed by your key. Update each endpoint path and parameter using the API reference. Profile usernames need an @ prefix in REST paths. Use the documented identifier for each post.
- 04Map response fields. Successful responses contain platform, resource, capturedAt, source, and data. Map shared fields and platform-specific fields using the response schemas. Keep unavailable metrics as null.
- 05Handle pagination and errors. Pass meta.cursors.next back as cursor for list requests. Cursors from another provider cannot be reused. Handle Openhandle error codes and retry only when retryable is true. See pagination and errors.
- 06Set a cap. Pick a monthly spending cap before you go live. We stop before it, so a bad loop cannot run up a bill.
- 07Validate before switching. Check success, empty, private, and not-found cases with a Test key. Then move to Live and compare a small sample with your current provider before switching production traffic.
