TikTok's official data access is the Research API, and it is limited to approved researchers. Everyone else who needs public TikTok data ends up searching for a TikTok scraper API. This page explains the options and what each one really costs.

Why there is no official route
The TikTok Research API is for academic and non-profit research and needs an application. The Display API only reads the account that logged in. Neither one lets a brand read a creator, a hashtag, or a sound at large. Scrapers fill that gap by reading the private web and app interfaces, and those interfaces change often.

Where TikTok scrapers break
- —Web and app disagree. The web page and the app show different fields. A web-only scraper misses metrics the app shows, and the other way around.
- —Region-locked content. A video that is public in one country is hidden in another. A scraper on one proxy pool reports it as gone.
- —Signed requests. TikTok signs its API calls. When the signing changes, every scraper built on it fails at once.
- —Fresh uploads. A video posted minutes ago often returns nothing for a while. Payout runs hit this every time.
